Surviving the Holidays

The holidays are a very busy time. Often, we forget to take care of ourselves while taking care of everything else. Whether we’re a busy parent running our kids around, or a teen trying to do it all, there are several things we can do to increase our chances of a successful holiday season.

Set Boundaries.

It’s okay to say no. We don’t have to be everything to everyone.

Give Yourself Grace

Don’t beat yourself up when you’re down. We all have days when we can’t accomplish everything on our to-do list. Your worth does not change based on the amount of things you accomplish.

Schedule You Time

Make time for the things you enjoy. Book an evening of reading, playing video games, or spending time with loved ones. We can only work as hard as we play.

Basic Needs Check

Have you been getting enough sleep? Are you missing meals? When’s the last time you drank water? Do yourself a favor, and take care of you.

Not feeling like yourself?

Our mental and physical health are closely linked. Neglecting one will cause suffering to the other. Reach out to a medical professional as needed.

Escape from Social Media

Take a break from the screen and a much needed interruption from the expectations of others.

Schedule a Vent Session

We all need a judgment free spot to vent. Whether that’s a loved one, or a

professional. Find someone to share the burden with this holiday season.

I hope you enjoyed this "funtastic" blog post!
